Acetyl-CoA carboxylase α-carboxyltransferase

Abbrev. α-CT

E.C. 6.4.1.2

Acetyl-coenzyme A carboxylase carboxyl transferase α subunit is a component of the heteromeric acetyl coenzyme A carboxylase complex. It transfers the carboxyl group from carboxylated biotin, catalyzed by biotin carboxylase, to acetyl-CoA resulting in the formation of malonyl-CoA.
